WISHES AND SUGGESTIONS

Image
As the title appeared above, this is the only section for wishes and suggestions. First of all, my wish for this usrah is that I really hope all of us could benefit from those sharing and could be applied in our life. As to be a better Muslim, I seek for Allah's help to guide me in the right ways and give me the best solutions for all of my problems.  As for suggestions, there's nothing I want to say as our Naqibah has given her best in fulfilling her tasks. If I were given the role, I could not be as what she have done to us. Thank you from all of my heart for being the best Naqibah, Sis Izzah Firzanah! Till we meet again!

Image
Assalamualaikum and hi! So as everyone knows, today would be our very last session for usrah in our foundation year. It is kinda sad but yet Allah's plans are definitely better than ours :)  This is gonna be the last sharing from our honourable Naqibah, Sister Izzah Firzanah. Hence, let's get started!  Basically, the word 'Hajj' means heading an honourable person or place. However, 'Hajj' legally means worshipping Allah by performing the Hajj rituals which are defined  as specific acts performed at a specific time and place in a specific way.  Hajj is the Fifth Pillar of Islam. It is believer that it is one of the best actions of worship.  Hajj could make us Muslims, purified from sins and could also give us no reward but Jannah.  While Umrah, it linguistically means to visit and juridically, umrah means a way of worshipping Allah by making Tawaf of the Kaabah and Saie between Mount Safa and Marwa and shaving or cutting hair.  The act of Umrah is...

Image
Assalamualaikum and hi! We are now in week 10 hence it can be concluded that we are almost at the end of our semester. Sis Izzah has explained to us about what virtues can be found when we do sadaqah or zakah. So, first of all, she highlighted about sadaqah can teach us more about what is the exact meaning of tawakkul. Technically, tawakkul could be defined as hanging on to Allah in whatever activities we do. Zakah or Sadaqah here is actually one of the tests that Allah has given to us as to know how our iman could be. Muslims are being tested by the their wealth and how they could overcome the feeling of arrogant and keep being tawakkul to Allah SWT.  Below is the best verse that portrays the topic we talk about ;  Next, by sadaqah, Muslims can form any kind of ukhuwwah or sisterhood/ brotherhood among themselves. Hence, this can help our religion to be more powerful with our bonds that we made for this entire our life. We could all together lend our hands to help poor ...

WEEK 5 : THE VIRTUES FOUND IN SAWM (FASTING)

Image
Assalamualaikum wbt. We discussed about a topic that is related to fasting (sawm). We got to have the chance to identify what are some types of wisdom in fasting.  1) While fasting, we could practice and train ourselves to be more patient to what is coming towards us. It is a natural way when a Muslim becomes more patient when practicing fasting in their life. 2) Besides, we could develop an attitude of respect to people around us. In this case, we could become a kind-hearted Muslim whom Allah loves whoever that do good to others.  3) Last but not least, we shall be getting mercy when practicing fasting in our life. Then, we continued our session with my group's presentation. (Group 4) While working on this poster with my friends, I could feel better and free in expressing what I thought about this. They taught me well and helped me when I literally had no idea to give them contents as the source of this poster. Despite of busy and hectic weeks, we managed to find our ti...

It is a way to overcome distress, sadness, fear and weakness. Furthermore, numerous are the hadith that portray the prayer as a mean for effacing sins and even avoiding them.  So that's basically it for today, bye!

WEEK 2 : REASONS & SOURCES OF HIKMAH FROM 'IBADAH

Image
For this week, we got the opportunity to explore more about some of the Quranic verses that explain wisdom or in the other words Hikmah.  1) Surah Al-Ankabut verse 45 (Prayer) This verse brings the meaning that the remembrance of Allah such as prayer is a thing of much higher value and it does not only restrain from the evils but, over and above that. It induces people to act righteously and urges them to excel one another in good acts.  2) Surah Al Baqarah verse 183 (Sawm) This verse explains to us one of the important ordinances in Islam which is fasting and also known as the most serious act of worship. Muslims are obligated to fast during the whole holy month of Ramadhan. In fact. fasting is primarily an institution for a spiritual discipline and self-control.   3) Surah At Tawbah verse 103 (Sadaqah) This verse tells us about Sadaqah. In Islam, Sadaqah is a virtuous deed as we could help our Muslims brothers and sisters from any hardships. We live in an exp...
